Make plants die and have more than one stat

Make plants die after a while – having plants live forever is neither realistic nor good for game play. Also have more than one stat that you’re trying to balance as otherwise there’s little skill involved. At the moment all you do is plant loads of bamboo and, well, that’s it. The whole thing comes across as if it were designed by somebody who doesn’t play these types of games and has a freakish obsession with planting banboo.

We’re always looking at ways of improving the game but we will keep the plants indefinitely. The goal for our players is to build up a garden they are proud of, removing and playing with the layout.
We’ve done a lot of work on the balancing of the new version and are always tweaking the time vs reward of each of the plants, we’ve certainly removed the reliance on bamboo from the equation.
We do have the option of using watering as another ‘stat’ but we’re reluctant to do so until we’re happy with the game as it stands, otherwise it’s just another thing to balance.
